Sustainable

Eco Schools Ten Sustainable Topics are embedded into the broad and rich curriculum at Richard Avenue Primary School. We are very proud to have achieved our fourth Eco-School Green Flag renewal.

Our staff and children enjoy:

  • A number of differently themes gardens, such as the Friendship Garden, and the Wildlife Garden.
  • A large school field, surrounded by plants and flowers, mature trees, and a variety of new trees (Silver Birch, Wild Cherry, and Rowan) planted in 2024.
  • A working allotment, growing a wide variety of seasonal fruit and veg.
  • Composters, and water butts.
  • Bird and Insect friendly planting and structures, like nesting boxes, and bug hotels.
  • Benches and tables to sit and relax in this environment.
