Admissions to School
Most children join us in nursery, but many other children also join in different year groups throughout the school year.
There are essentially 3 ways to join the school:
- Join your child into the nursery
- Join your child at reception age
- Transfer your child from another school, or join us when coming to the UK from another country.
Please see details for these different entry routes below.

Admissions to Nursery
The nursery provision is available for 3 to 4 year-olds. Children start nursery the term after their 3rd birthday.
We currently offer either a morning or an afternoon intake who will all receive 15 hours of our provision. You must contact the school directly for Nursery admissions.
We also offer 30 hours a week to eligible parents so children can remain at Nursery for the duration of the school day with a packed lunch.

Admissions to Reception
Admissions to our Reception class are administered by Sunderland City Council.
Children start Reception from the age of 4. When you join in reception it is assumed your child will be staying with us until they leave in Year 6.
To join from reception, you don’t need to contact the school directly. Instead follow the links below.

Transfer from another School or Country
School transfers are also administered by Sunderland City Council.
If children are joining us from another school or coming from another country, we recommend you contact the school first to see if we have any free places.
If we do then you will need to fill in a Primary School Transfer Application Form.
