As part of the Lost Landscapes and Learning initiative, a wildflower meadow is being created within the school grounds.
Today the children with volunteers began to dig out the turf and shape what will become our new wildflower meadow. Everyone worked really hard to create what will be both a educational space and a wildlife area for both flowers and the creatures they attract.
The next step will be the sowing of the seeds which should take place after we return from our Easter break.

As part of the Lost Landscapes and Learning initiative, a wildflower meadow is being created within the school grounds.
The Meadow will make a fantastic addition to the grounds for all the pupils and will be a valuable learning tool teaching the children about the wildlife that is dependent upon it and the importance of flowers and nature.
Children will be involved in designing the layout of the meadow and helping to sow the seeds. But we need lots of hands to help us first remove some grass.
No experience is necessary, just plenty of enthusiasm. If you cannot manage the whole session you’re still welcome for however long you can dig for and for moral support.
Please come to Richard Avenue Primary School on Tuesday 27th March 2018 from 10am – 12pm and 1pm – 3pm.
