Journey out to the River Wear
As part of the curriculum, the whole school is looking at sustainability in its different forms. To integrate this, year six took a trip to the River Wear to look at living things and their habitats.
The children took samples of river water to specifically look at the micro organisms living in that section of the river to get an overall picture of life of the river. The samples where classified by animals and plants.

Adding to this, the children spent the day learning about and recognising the different characteristics of the micro organisms. A successful and fun day had by all.
