Year 5 performed their annual assembly this morning. The topic was about Ancient Egypt to fit into their history lessons. They sang songs and performed acting about mummification, the discovery of Tutankhamun and about King Tut himself.

In our final assembly of the term we celebrated the students work on a number of fronts.
Two of our children attended Sunderland’s Anti Bullying Awards ceremony earlier this month to receive an award for their work. This event was held in the Council Chambers at the Civic Centre and the major was present to acknowledge the winners. Both children created brilliant posters to raise awareness of ‘Everyone Different, Everyone Equal’. They were recognised for their design and art work.
Elsewhere our Healthy Pack lunch winners where picked out of a hat to win a prize. The prize is awarded to students who demonstrate a healthy pack lunch.
Finally over the past few weeks we’ve been celebrating Women’s History Month. One of the activities the children did was a homework about women in history. Out of all our great pieces of work we picked a number of children from each class who won a book. Well done to all, and happy Easter everyone.
