Derwent Hill Trip, 5th – 9th February 2018

Derwent Hill 2018.
30 pupils from RAPS attended Derwent Hill and had a great learning experience amidst a significant Lakeland snowfall.

The pupils took part in the John Muir Discovery Award, and engaged in the 4 areas of Discover, Explore, Conserve and Share. John Muir was great environmentalist who had a love of wild places and introducing them to young people.
As part of their work some 800 trees were planted by pupils, under the direction of the Environment Agency.

The whole residential week proved to be a tremendous Outdoor Education learning experience in which pupils not only undertook adventurous activities, developed a deeper understanding of the environment, but also learnt a lot about themselves.
