They also enable schools to effectively benchmark their progress and give direction to their ongoing work in this area. Bronze School Champions have highly inclusive school policies, actively tackle homophobic bullying, embed LGBT issues in their curriculum and staff training and support diversity in the wider school community.
At Richard Avenue we pride ourselves on providing an education that promotes Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development which is the over-arching umbrella that encompasses personal development across the whole curriculum. Strong evidence shows that promoting SMSC in schools can contribute to raising academic standards and improves children’s life chances and prepares pupils for life in a modern world. Here at Richard Avenue, we are happy to say we have achieved the National GOLD SMSC quality mark . Well done everyone!
