Little Inventors Winner | September 28, 2017

In summer term many children from the school took part in a worldwide event with Little Inventors, where they thought of their own designs and entered a competition to have their design made.

All of the entries were displayed on the Little Inventors website and Gabriel Coates, in Year 6 won the competition. He will have his ‘Rolla Lampa’ design displayed in the Winter Gardens exhibition on Saturday 30th September. The design will be in the Winter Gardens until 13th October 2017 if you would like to see it.

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2017 | September 27, 2017

We are inviting all parents and friends to come along to our Macmillan Coffee Morning 2017 where we will be serving delicious cakes and coffee to help make a huge difference to people facing cancer.

The morning is on Friday 29th September 2017 at 9am at the Richard Avenue Primary School Community Room.

Visit from a local Imam | September 18, 2017

On Thursday 14th September the school welcomed Mr. Shahid, our Imam from the local mosque, into our school. In assembly he spoke about the importance of belonging to a community and welcoming brothers and sisters from all backgrounds. He also spoke about the festival of Eid, which was celebrated recently by the Muslim community as well as the importance of charity. The children discovered how it is possible to give in different ways, not only by donating money but also with words and a smile!

Thornhill Academy Open Day 2017 | September 12, 2017

Thornhill Academy will be having an open day on Wednesday 20th September 2017, between 3.30 – 6.30pm. Its the perfect opportunity to go along with your children and talk to teachers about the school and see their facilities for yourself.
